Fync ("we", "us", or "our") is a personal finance management application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use Fync at fync.money or m.fync.money. By using Fync, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you register and use Fync:

Account information: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and age.
Financial data you enter: transactions (descriptions, amounts, frequencies, categories), debts, goals, and lending records.
Usage data: login activity, IP addresses, and timestamps — used for security and fraud detection.
Payment data: when you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers. We receive only a customer reference ID and subscription status from Stripe.
Preferences: your timezone, display theme, and notification settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide the Fync service — displaying your financial data, generating forecasts, and sending reminders.
To send you daily or periodic email reminders about upcoming and overdue transactions (only if you enable reminders).
To process subscription payments securely through Stripe.
To detect and prevent unauthorized access or fraud using login activity logs.
To improve the application based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

4. Email Communications

If you enable transaction reminders, we will send you automated emails about your upcoming and overdue transactions. You can disable reminders at any time in your account settings. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Stripe: your email and a reference ID are shared with Stripe to process subscription payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to that data: stripe.com/privacy.
Notification recipients: if you configure family or partner notification recipients, your transaction reminder emails will also be sent to those addresses. You control this list.
Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or a valid legal process.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use HTTPS (TLS) for all data in transit, hashed passwords (bcrypt), HMAC-signed tokens for payment links, and session isolation. We apply security headers including HSTS, CSP, and X-Frame-Options on all responses. Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and financial records within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data in your account settings.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Export your transaction data (available via your profile settings).
Opt out of email reminders at any time.

Fync uses session cookies to keep you logged in. These are HTTP-only, Secure-flagged cookies that do not track you across other websites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or analytics trackers.

Fync is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by email.
